The History of
Grimm Brothers Plastics

Grimm Brothers began in the early 1980s with two brothers primarily employed in farming, which left enough time for them to do outside work in the farm shop. As one of their first projects, Kent and Curt Grimm fabricated particle board electronic cabinets which were covered with plastic laminate. The demand for their cabinets grew to a point in which the brothers could hardly keep up. The idea of a plastic cabinet was discussed, which prompted the brothers to attend the National Plastic Expo held in Chicago in May of 1985.

As a result of the show, they made a recommendation to their cabinet buyer to replace the current cabinet with a plastic one. The client approved, and a pressure forming company out of Chicago was selected to mold the cabinets. With the experience of having an outside source make the cabinet, Grimm Brothers discovered the opportunity to become involved in pressure forming. The first machine was a vacuumformer, which the brothers retrofitted into a pressure-former. Through Kent and Curt's engineering skills, the business has continued to grow. We are serving a wide variety of needs for our customers in the following industries: medical, fitness, industrial, recreation, appliance, food and beverage, and business machines.

Grimm Brothers Plastics Corporation is now operating in a 100,000 square foot facility in Wapello, Iowa.

Currently Kent Grimm is President, Curt Grimm is Vice President, Ron Winslow is General Manager and Dave Strabala is Sales & Marketing Manager.
